Vent Solaire is a musical work written by Jean-Francois Blouin (Québec) for The Babel Table (Laporte new invented instrument) and Live Electronics.
The translation of the title is Solar Wind. It is inspired by the spectral sounds generated by the thirteen acoustic oscillators that forms the instrument. The tape part has been realized from recordings of the Babel Table and it has the role to densify the sonic continuum of the piece. Holding a microphone in one hand, the musician captures live the sound of the acoustic oscillators that is transformed in real time.
