Double Set of Improvised Music — Semaine du Neuf

On Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 PM, Totem Contemporain joins forces with Tour de Bras for a double bill of improvised music at La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines, as part of the Semaine du Neuf festival.
The first half sees the duo Nous perçons les oreilles (Jean Derome and Joane Hétu) meet dancers Sarah Bild and Susanna Hood of the duo Frying Pan for Au confluent des âmes, a dialogue between improvised music and choreographic gesture.
The second half features Du vivant, a Totem Contemporain and Tour de Bras coproduction, bringing together Jean-François Laporte on his table de Babel, Éric Normand (bass and electronics), Philippe Lauzier (bass clarinet), and Annie Saint-Jean (images and device) in a kinetic and instrumental experience blending wild instrument-building, sonic meditation, and raw intensity, inspired by their 2020 film.
