Sunday, January 11, 2026 - 11:04
The third edition of the Totem Electroacoustic contest is now open!
For this new edition, and to mark the beginning of 2026, we have recorded and edited over 500 new, unique sounds, which are added to our sound library created from our invented instruments. The library now includes more than 2,000 sounds.
For those who wish to explore the new sounds, they are available starting from sound no. 1678. Additional sounds will be released throughout the year.
These recordings explore new sonic territories, offering rich and distinctive material for electroacoustic creation.
Composers registered for the competition will have access to these sounds in high definition (24-bit / 96 kHz) in order to compose an original work.
Several cash prizes, residencies, commissioned works, digital album releases, and concert presentations will be awarded to the competition finalists.
We are also pleased to announce the addition of a new award for this edition: the AFRIKA Prize. A special jury, composed of members of the artistic committee of the Kpalimé World Music Festival, will award the “AFRIKA Prize.” The jury will be chaired by artist Karlos Danklou (Togo).
The prize will be awarded to the best work, selected from all submissions to the competition by artists of African origin.
We encourage you to share the announcement of this contest with all the artists in your community who have an interest in composition and sound experimentation. It's a great opportunity to discover unheard-of sounds, and to showcase your work internationally.
