Our Artistic Director, Jean-François Laporte, recently travelled to Lyon to work with our collaborator Max Bruckert on the development of the digital control system for our prototype instrument, part of our new Totem Orchestra project.

He then continued on to Essen, where he collaborated with Folkwang University of the Arts, working alongside the students of design professor Claudius Lazzeroni as part of the prototype’s development. This stay led to significant progress, particularly through high-level technical support for creating custom components using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology.

These advancements mark a key step in the design of the very first prototype of our Totem Orchestra project. Access to such cutting-edge technology now enables the production of instrumental parts that are precisely tailored to our specific needs and artistic explorations.

Jean-François is now heading to Bali on a research and scouting trip, with the aim of opening new creative horizons and fueling the next phases of the PTC project.
