Dysphonia
Dysphonia is a work by composer Diane Daher for Babel Table and tape.
It is performed by Jean-François Laporte.
The work is a commission by Productions Totem Contemporain.
Program note :
Dysphonia explores the space between electroacoustic textures, experimental beatmaking and live performance. An imersive work for Table de Babel instrument and fixed media.
When trust breaks, speech unravels until it disappears. The voice is blocked, stuck in the throat like a knot that refuses to loosen. Invisible hands tighten around the neck, making it hard to breathe.
No words can come out and none can be heard.
“Why are you crying? It’s all good, so no worries.”
